Marriage customs in Asia

Bridal customs in Asia are very different. They have the potential to open up interesting perspectives on various societies and ideologies.

A month prior to her marriage, a Chinese wedding must cry with her family for an hours each time. Ten days later, her mother joins in, and by the time the ordeal is over, every girl in the family had be sobbing alongside the bride. The newlyweds are said to find it simple to become pregnant thanks to this tradition, known as Au Chuang.

In Japan, it is usual for family members to give the wife a padded dress known as an uchikake before her wedding ceremony that has the design of cranes, ripples, and trees on it. Additionally, she did give decorated twigs from the revered Sakaki branch to her new residence while donning a hair and an extra robe with her family crest attached.

When the man arrives at the event, he is welcomed by the bride’s feminine family. To ward off evil eyes, they will do aarti and implement malik. The Groom’s adult family will then be greeted and invited to participate in the ritual of circling the sacred fire during the Milni Ceremony. They will make their pledges here to one another and to their families.

The groom’s family will then give her parents bride price ( betrothal gifts ) if their horoscopes coincide. The couple may then walk around the hearth in a circle after that. This is done to keep their goals, for as success, adore, and commitment to one another and their families, in the forefront of their minds.
